天主教教理 464 天主子降生成人是唯一及無與倫比的事件，但並不是說耶穌基督一部分是天主，一部分是人；也不是天主性和人性的模糊的混合產物。祂確實成了人，但仍是真正的天主。耶穌基督是真天主，又是真人。教會在最初的幾個世紀裡，必須維護和澄清這端信德的真理，以對抗那些想把它歪曲的異端。

Catechism of the Catholic Church 464 The unique and altogether singular event of the Incarnation of the Son of God does not mean that Jesus Christ is part God and part man, nor does it imply that he is the result of a confused mixture of the divine and the human. He became truly man while remaining truly God. Jesus Christ is true God and true man. During the first centuries, the Church had to defend and clarify this truth of faith against the heresies that falsified it.

Prayer over the Offerings As we look forward, O Lord, to the coming festivities, may we serve you all the more eagerly for knowing that in them you make manifest the beginnings of our redemption. Through Christ our Lord.
