가톨릭 교회 교리서 524 교회는 매년 대림 시기 전례를 거행하면서 실제로 메시아를 기다린다. 신자들은 구세주의 첫 번째 오심에 대한 오랜 준비에 참여함으로써 그분의 재림에 대한 열렬한 소망을 새롭게 한다.[묵시 22,17 참조] 교회는 ‘선구자’의 탄생과 순교를 기념하여 그의 소망과 일치한다. “그분은 커지셔야 하고 나는 작아져야 한다”(요한 3,30).

Catechism of the Catholic Church 524 When the Church celebrates the liturgy of Advent each year, she makes present this ancient expectancy of the Messiah, for by sharing in the long preparation for the Savior's first coming, the faithful renew their ardent desire for his second coming.Cf Rev 22:17. By celebrating the precursor's birth and martyrdom, the Church unites herself to his desire: "He must increase, but I must decrease."Jn 3:30.

입당송 : 시편 25(24),1-3 참조 하느님, 당신께 제 영혼 들어 올리나이다. 저의 하느님, 당신께 저를 맡기오니 수치를 당하지 않게 하소서. 원수들이 저를 보고 좋아라 날뛰지 못하게 하소서. 당신께 바라는 이는 아무도 수치를 당하지 않으리이다.

Entrance Antiphon : Cf. Ps 25(24):1-3 To you, I lift up my soul, O my God. In you, I have trusted; let me not be put to shame. Nor let my enemies exult over me; and let none who hope in you be put to shame.

본기도 전능하신 하느님, 저희 마음을 이끄시어 저희가 이 세상에서 옳은 일을 하며 다시 오시는 그리스도를 맞이하게 하시고 마침내 하늘 나라에 들어가 그리스도 곁에서 영광을 누리게 하소서. 성부와 성령과 함께 천주로서 영원히 살아 계시며 다스리시는 성자 우리 주 예수 그리스도를 통하여 비나이다.

Collect Grant your faithful, we pray, almighty God, the resolve to run forth to meet your Christ with righteous deeds at his coming, so that, gathered at his right hand, they may be worthy to possess the heavenly Kingdom. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives are reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever.

제1독서 : 이사야서 2,1-5 1 아모츠의 아들 이사야가 유다와 예루살렘에 관하여 환시로 받은 말씀. 2 세월이 흐른 뒤에 이러한 일이 이루어지리라. 주님의 집이 서 있는 산은 모든 산들 위에 굳게 세워지고 언덕들보다 높이 솟아오르리라. 모든 민족들이 그리로 밀려들고 3 수많은 백성들이 모여 오면서 말하리라. “자, 주님의 산으로 올라가자. 야곱의 하느님 집으로! 그러면 그분께서 당신의 길을 우리에게 가르치시어 우리가 그분의 길을 걷게 되리라.” 이는 시온에서 가르침이 나오고 예루살렘에서 주님의 말씀이 나오기 때문이다. 4 그분께서 민족들 사이에 재판관이 되시고 수많은 백성들 사이에 심판관이 되시리라. 그러면 그들은 칼을 쳐서 보습을 만들고 창을 쳐서 낫을 만들리라. 한 민족이 다른 민족을 거슬러 칼을 쳐들지도 않고 다시는 전쟁을 배워 익히지도 않으리라. 5 야곱 집안아, 자, 주님의 빛 속에 걸어가자!

First Reading : Is 2:1-5 This is what Isaiah, son of Amoz, saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. In days to come, the mountain of the LORD's house shall be established as the highest mountain and raised above the hills. All nations shall stream toward it; many peoples shall come and say: "Come, let us climb the LORD's mountain, to the house of the God of Jacob, that he may instruct us in his ways, and we may walk in his paths." For from Zion shall go forth instruction, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. He shall judge between the nations, and impose terms on many peoples. They shall beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks; one nation shall not raise the sword against another, nor shall they train for war again. O house of Jacob, come, let us walk in the light of the Lord!

제2독서 : 사도 바오로의 로마서 13,11-14ㄱ 형제 여러분, 11 여러분은 지금이 어떤 때인지 알고 있습니다. 여러분이 잠에서 깨어날 시간이 이미 되었습니다. 이제 우리가 처음 믿을 때보다 우리의 구원이 더 가까워졌기 때문입니다. 12 밤이 물러가고 낮이 가까이 왔습니다. 그러니 어둠의 행실을 벗어 버리고 빛의 갑옷을 입읍시다. 13 대낮에 행동하듯이, 품위 있게 살아갑시다. 흥청대는 술잔치와 만취, 음탕과 방탕, 다툼과 시기 속에 살지 맙시다. 14 그 대신에 주 예수 그리스도를 입으십시오.

Second Reading : Rom 13:11-14 Brothers and sisters: You know the time; it is the hour now for you to awake from sleep. For our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed; the night is advanced, the day is at hand. Let us then throw off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light; let us conduct ourselves properly as in the day, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in promiscuity and lust, not in rivalry and jealousy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the desires of the flesh.

복음 : 마태오 24,37-44 그때에 예수님께서 제자들에게 말씀하셨다. 37 “노아 때처럼 사람의 아들의 재림도 그러할 것이다. 38 홍수 이전 시대에 사람들은 노아가 방주에 들어가는 날까지 먹고 마시고 장가들고 시집가고 하면서, 39 홍수가 닥쳐 모두 휩쓸어 갈 때까지 아무것도 모르고 있었다. 사람의 아들의 재림도 그러할 것이다. 40 그때에 두 사람이 들에 있으면, 하나는 데려가고 하나는 버려둘 것이다. 41 두 여자가 맷돌질을 하고 있으면, 하나는 데려가고 하나는 버려둘 것이다. 42 그러니 깨어 있어라. 너희의 주인이 어느 날에 올지 너희가 모르기 때문이다. 43 이것을 명심하여라. 도둑이 밤 몇 시에 올지 집주인이 알면, 깨어 있으면서 도둑이 자기 집을 뚫고 들어오도록 내버려 두지 않을 것이다. 44 그러니 너희도 준비하고 있어라. 너희가 생각하지도 않은 때에 사람의 아들이 올 것이기 때문이다.”

Gospel : Mt 24:37-44 Jesus said to his disciples: "As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. In those days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day that Noah entered the ark. They did not know until the flood came and carried them all away. So will it be also at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be out in the field; one will be taken, and one will be left. Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken, and one will be left. Therefore, stay awake! For you do not know on which day your Lord will come. Be sure of this: if the master of the house had known the hour of night when the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and not let his house be broken into. So too, you also must be prepared, for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come."

예물 기도 주님, 저희에게 온갖 선물을 베풀어 주셨으니 그 가운데에서 저희가 모아 바치는 이 제물을 받아들이시고 현세에서 저희 믿음을 북돋아 주시어 후세에서 영원한 구원의 상급을 받게 하소서. 우리 주 그리스도를 통하여 비나이다.

Prayer over the Offerings Accept, we pray, O Lord, these offerings we make, gathered from among your gifts to us, and may what you grant us to celebrate devoutly here below gain for us the prize of eternal redemption. Through Christ our Lord.

영성체송 : 시편 85(84),13 주님이 복을 베푸시어, 우리 땅이 열매를 내리라.

Prayer After Communion May these mysteries, O Lord, in which we have participated, profit us, we pray, for even now, as we walk amid passing things, you teach us by them to love the things of heaven and hold fast to what endures. Through Christ our Lord.
